SAN ANTONIO — After a nearly three-week layoff, the UTSA women's golf team will return to action on Sunday-Tuesday, March 27-29, at the Chattanooga Classic, which will be held at Council Fire Golf Course (par 72/6,234 yards) in Chattanooga, Tenn.
The Roadrunners will compete against Chattanooga, Central Arkansas, Colorado State, Duke, East Carolina, East Tennessee State, FIU, Florida Atlantic, Indiana, Iowa, James Madison, Middle Tennessee, Murray State, North Florida, Old Dominion, Samford, South Florida, Southern Miss, Wisconsin and Yale in the three-day, 54-hole event.
UTSA last played on March 7-8 at the Trinity Forest Invitational, tying for fourth place behind top-20 finishes from Camryn Carreon (13th), Ana Gonzalez (18th) and Hannah Holzmann (18th).
The Roadrunners have logged a trio of top-five team finishes in 2021-22, third-place showings at the Tulane Classic in February and at the Mercedes-Benz Collegiate Championship last September in their last visit to the state of Tennessee.
Carreon paces the UTSA roster with a 73.48 stroke average to go along with four top-20 finishes this season. Hunter Nugent is close behind with a 73.95 average, while Gonzalez ranks third with a 74.05 mark.
