Twelve former Roadrunners shine in pro day

SAN ANTONIO -- A total of 12 former UTSA football standouts participated in pro day on Wednesday at the Roadrunner Center for Athletics Excellence.

UTSA saw 12 former stars go through an NFL combine style pro day workout in front of 30 of 32 NFL teams.

A trio of former UTSA players used the pro day as their second workout in advance of the NFL Draft after they participated in the NFL Combine earlier in March in Indianapolis, including offensive lineman Spencer Burford, running back Sincere McCormick and cornerback Tariq Woolen.

The three were joined by fullback/tight end Myles Benning, running back B.J. Daniels, defensive lineman Lorenzo Dantzler, kicker Hunter Duplessis, linebacker Denzel Feaster, defensive lineman Jaylon Haynes, linebacker Clarence Hicks, tight end Leroy Watson and linebacker Charles Wiley.

Among the highlights included 40-yard dash times turned in by Daniels (4.58), Hicks (4.49), McCormick (4.55) and Wiley (4.49). Duplessis ranked second with 25 pumps of 225 pounds on the bench press, trailing only Wiley's 27.

UTSA's spring football practice will continue on Thursday at the Roadrunner Center for Athletics Excellence. The Roadrunners will host the UTSA Football Fiesta Spring Game on April 14 at the Dub Farris Athletic Complex at 7 p.m.
