Roadrunners face Islanders in midweek matchup

SAN ANTONIO – The UTSA softball team is set to take on the Islanders tomorrow in Corpus Christi. First pitch is set for 3 p.m.

The Roadrunners enter the game 8-17 overall and 3-3 in conference after falling to Charlotte 2-1 in the series over the weekend.
 
Kat Ibarra continues to lead the team with a .338 batting average. The sophomore has 20 runs on 25 hits, three doubles, three triples and four home runs. Riley Grunberg and Marena Estell lead the team in homers with five each. In the circle, Estell leads with a 5.12 ERA. She has a 2-6 record, pitching 45.2 innings and 22 strikeouts.
 
Scouting Texas A&M-Corpus Christi
The Islanders come into the matchup 10-16 overall. They will open Southland Conference action on Friday.
 
Pal Egan leads the team with a .370 batting average, including 24 runs, 27 his, 10 doubles and five homers. Leading the pitchers is Beatriz Lara with a 3.55 ERA. She has pitched 23.2 innings with 19 strikeouts and is 2-1 on the season.
