SAN ANTONIO — The UTSA men's golf team will continue its busy month of March at the All-American Intercollegiate on Monday-Tuesday, March 21-22, at the Golf Club of Houston (par 72/7,425 yards) in Humble, Texas.
Marking their third of four tournaments this month, the Roadrunners will compete against Abilene Christian, Arkansas State, Baylor, Florida State, Georgia State, Houston, Lamar, Louisiana, Louisiana Tech, Mississippi State, New Mexico State, North Texas, Rice, Sam Houston State, Texas State and ULM.
The field will play 36 holes on Monday and 18 on Tuesday with an 8 a.m. shotgun start scheduled for both days.
UTSA is coming off a 10th-place finish at the Louisiana Classics last week. Hunter Bott and Christian Fanfelle led the way by tying for 17th at 3-under-par 213.
The Roadrunners own three top-five team finishes this season, including winning the Lone Star Invitational last September at TPC San Antonio. UTSA also registered a runner-up finish at the season-opening Jim Rivers Intercollegiate.
Fanfelle leads the team with a 72.0 stroke average and the senior from San Antonio boasts five top-20 finishes in 2021-22. Michael Rome ranks second with a 72.9 average and the super senior out of Austin Westlake High School has placed in the top 10 three times, including co-medalist honors at the Lone Star Invitational.
The Roadrunners tied with Houston for fifth at last year's All-American Intercollegiate after firing an even-par 864. Fanfelle carded a 5-under 211 (67-74-70) for a share of seventh place. The fifth-place tie marked UTSA's top finish in five team appearances at the event.
