LAS VEGAS, Nev. – The UTSA women's tennis team dropped a 4-1 match to Marshall in the first of two weekend matches in Las Vegas, Nev.
The Roadrunners were victorious in the doubles play against the Thundering Herd. Marshall claimed the first win at No. 3, but UTSA responded with back-to-back wins to take a 1-0 lead heading into singles. Jasmin Starr and Sophie Omoworare upended their opponent 6-1 at No. 1. At No. 2, Aleksandra Zlatarova and Stanislava Bobrovnikova followed suit with a 7-5 defeat of their opponents.
Marshall's singles play clinched the match for the Thundering Herd. Four consecutive wins surpassed UTSA. Omoworare was defeated 6-1, 6-0 at No. 5. At No. 2, Starr was beat 6-2, 6-2. Eva Beyebach lost a close 6-4, 6-4 match to her opponent as Marshall claimed the win.
The Roadrunners will return to the court in Las Vegas, Nev. tomorrow at 10 a.m. to face UNLV.
