SAN MARCOS, Texas – The UTSA softball team was upended 4-0 by Texas State on Tuesday afternoon at Bobcat Softball Stadium.
The Bobcats took an early lead with an RBI off a single in the bottom of the first.
Adding to their lead, in the third Texas State batted in another runner with a single up the middle.
A two-run single in the bottom of the fourth gave the Bobcats a four-run lead to win the game.
The Roadrunners recorded three hits for the afternoon off the bats of Marena Estell, Kaitlyn Morado and Sophie Campbell.
Tatum Seith got the start in the circle for UTSA, pitching four innings. Jamie Gilbert relieved Seith to pitch the final two innings.
The Roadrunners will return to Roadrunner Field this weekend to host a three-game series against Charlotte. The first pitch will be thrown Friday at 6 p.m.
