Lady Flames sweep Roadrunners

SAN ANTONIO – The UTSA women's tennis team was swept 4-0 by Liberty on Sunday afternoon at the UTSA Tennis Center.
 
The Roadrunners won the first doubles match of the afternoon as Jasmin Starr and Sophie Omoworare defeated their opponents 6-1 at No. 2. The Lady Flames responded with a two-match win to claim the doubles point. At No. 1, Aleksandra Zlatarova and Keegan McCain lost a close 7-5 match. Eva Beyebach and Stanislava Bobrovnikova dropped a close 7-6 (7-9) tie-breaking match at No. 3.
 
Liberty won three back-to-back singles matches to finish the match 4-0. Beyebach was defeated 6-1, 6-0 at No. 4. The Lady Flames were victorious at No. 4 and No. 5.
 
The Roadrunners will hit the road to Las Vegas, Nev. for a pair of matches against UNLV and Marshall on March 18-19 before returning home to host a double header against Prairie View A&M on April 3.
