SAN ANTONIO – The UTSA softball team opens conference this weekend when it takes on UTEP March 11-13 in El Paso.
Friday's game is set for 4 p.m., Saturday will start and 3 p.m. and Sunday's first pitch is set for 12 p.m.
Scouting UTSA
The Roadrunners enter the weekend 5-13 overall after finishing up the tournament slate in Arlington, Texas March 4-5.
Kat Ibarra leads the team with a .327 batting average, in slugging pct. (.633), on base pct. (.507), runs (16), hits (16), walks (17) and ties in home runs with three.
Marena Estell leads in thee circle with a 4.54 ERA, including 17 strikeouts in 32.2 innings.
Scouting UTEP
UTEP comes into the series 9-11 overall after a recent 2-1 series win over UIW March 5-6.
Pate Cathey leads the team in batting average with a .361, while Kaylin Jackson has three home runs to lead the Miners.
In the circle, Aalijah Alarcon leads with a 3.97 ERA, including a 5-5 record and 41 strikeouts in 54.2 innings.
