AUSTIN – The UTSA softball team dropped a 6-1 decision to Tulsa Monday afternoon to close out the Texas Classic.
Tulsa was on the board early with a single run in the bottom of the second to lead 1-0.
In the third, the Roadrunners were able to make some action happen. Lauren Coerver opened with a walk. Emily Johnson grounded out as Coerver advanced to second, then reached third on a wild pitch. With two outs, Kat Ibarra earned a walk and Camryn Robillard followed with a single down the left line as runners advanced and Coerver scored to tie the game 1-1.
The Golden Hurricane scored five runs in the fourth from a three-run homer and four singles to regain the lead 6-1.
The Roadrunners are back in action tomorrow at Houston Baptist at 5 p.m.
