SAN ANTONIO – The UTSA women's tennis team was swept 4-0 by Texas A&M-Corpus Christi on Tuesday afternoon at the UTSA Tennis Center.
The Islanders gained an early 1-0 advantage after securing the doubles point. At No. 2, Sophie Omoworare and Stanislava Bobrovnikova dropped their match to their opponents 6-1. The match at No. 3 was forfeit as Texas A&M-Corpus Christi led going into singles play.
In singles, the Islanders claimed three back-to-back matches to win the match. At No. 5, Omoworare was taken down in a two-set match, 6-1, 6-2. Eva Beyebach was defeated by her opponent 6-2 in the first set and 6-4 in a close second set.
The Roadrunners head to Houston this weekend to face Rice on Friday, Feb. 25 and Houston on Saturday, Feb. 26.
