SAN ANTONIO - The UTSA women's basketball team closes out its home slate hosting Southern Miss on Feb. 17 at 7 p.m. and Louisiana Tech on Saturday at 2 p.m.
The Roadrunners come into the weekend 5-18 overall and 2-10 in conference after an 81-70 loss at WKU. Four Roadrunners scored in double digits with Queen Ulabo leading with 12. Trading the lead back and forth, both teams went on an 11-point run before the Lady Toppers gained the final lead to win the game. Jadyn Pimentel led the team in rebounding with seven.
Pimentel leads UTSA in scoring with 200 points this season, averaging 8.7 points per game. Pimentel has a team-high 69 assists and 67 steals. Ulabo has recorded a team-leading 127 rebounds this season with 58 offensive and 73 defensive.
Scouting Southern Miss
The Golden Eagles come into the matchup 15-8 overall and 7-5 in conference on the season after a 68-61 loss to UAB on Feb. 10.
Domonique Davis leads the Golden Eagles in scoring this season with 341 points, averaging 15.5 points per game. Davis has a season-high 95 assists and 24 blocks. Malyia Grayson has recorded a team-leading 142 boards this season, 64 offensive and 78 defensive. Daishai Almond leads the team with 49 swipes this season.
Scouting Louisiana Tech
Louisiana Tech enters the Convocation Center 14-9 this season. The Lady Techsters are 6-6 in conference play after a 59-56 loss to Charlotte on Feb. 10.
Keiunna Walker leads the Lady Techsters in scoring with 409 points, averaging 17.8 points per game. Anna Larr Roberson has recorded a team-high 194 with 55 offensive and 139 defensive, and 22 blocks. Salma Bates has a season-high 77 assists and 39 steals this season.
Last Meeting
This game marks the 15th all time meeting between the Roadrunners and the Golden Eagles. Southern Miss leads the series 13-1 after a 60-57 overtime loss on Feb. 7.
The matchup between UTSA and Louisiana Tech is the 21st all time contest between the two teams. LA Tech leads the series 15-5 after a 79-64 loss on Jan. 17.
