DENTON, Texas – The UTSA women's tennis team dropped a 4-1 decision to Middle Tennessee in Denton on Saturday.
The Blue Raiders claimed the doubles point 2-1. At No. 3, Stanislava Bobrovnikova and Eva Beyebach were defeated by their opponent 6-2. Jasmin Starr and Sophie Omoworare claimed a match for UTSA with a 7-5 win at No. 2. Aleksandra Zlatarova and Alexandra Weir were defeated in a tie breaker match 6-7 (7-4) at No. 1.
Zlatarova registered the only Roadrunner singles win with a 6-3, 6-4 victory. Bobrovnikova dropped a close first set 6-4 before a 6-2 second set. Omoworare was defeated 6-3, 6-1 in her match. Beyebach lost her first set 6-1 and the second 46-4 as Middle Tennessee won the match.
The Roadrunners will return to the court on Feb. 18 at 1 p.m. to face Northwestern State in Natchitoches, La.
