SAN ANTONIO – The UTSA women's basketball team will be on the road this weekend to face WKU on Sunday at 1 p.m. at the E.A. Diddle Arena.
The Roadrunners faceoff in Bowling Green, Ky. after a 60-57 overtime loss to Southern Miss on Feb. 7. UTSA is now 5-17 overall and 2-9 in conference this season. Elyssa Coleman led the Roadrunners with 14 points and six rebounds. Jadyn Pimentel followed with a double-digit performance of 10 points, contributing eight assists and two steals. Queen Ulabo grabbed a game-high eight rebounds for UTSA.
Pimentel now leads the team in scoring with 192 points this season, averaging 8.7 per game. She has a season-leading 61 assists and 60 steals. Ulabo continues to lead the team with 124 rebounds, 57 offensive and 67 defensive. Coleman has recorded a team-best 28 blocked shots this season.
Scouting the Lady Toppers
WKU comes to the matchup 16-7 following a 72-69 win over Florida Atlantic on Feb. 10.
Meral Abdelgawad leads the Hilltoppers in scoring with 459 points this season, averaging 20 points per game. Abdwlgawad has tallied a team-leading 162 boards, 53 offensive and 109 defensive, and a season-high 61 steals. Alexis Mead leads Western Kentucky in assists with 81. Selma Kulo has recorded a season-best 21 blocked shots.
Last Meeting
This game marks the eighth overall meeting of the two teams. Western Kentucky leads the series 5-2 after an 85-57 win on Feb. 15, 2020.
