McCormick receives NFL Scouting Combine invitation

SAN ANTONIO — Former UTSA All-America running back Sincere McCormick has received an invitation to participate in the NFL Scouting Combine, which will be held Feb. 28-March 7 at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.

McCormick, the Roadrunners' all-time leading rusher, is in line to join former UTSA all-conference performers Spencer Burford and Tariq Woolen as the first Roadrunners to take part in the NFL Scouting Combine since Marcus Davenport in 2018 before he was selected 14th overall by the New Orleans Saints later that year. David Morgan II was the first UTSA player to participate in the NFL Scouting Combine in 2016 prior to becoming the program's first-ever NFL Draft pick when he was taken in the sixth round by the Minnesota Vikings.

A two-time finalist for the Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award, McCormick rushed for 1,479 yards and 15 touchdowns on 298 carries — all UTSA records — and caught 22 passes for 184 yards in 13 games in 2021, helping lead the Roadrunners to a 12-2 record and the program's first conference title. A two-time Conference USA Offensive Player of the Year and Doak Walker Award semifinalist, the Converse Judson High School product led Conference USA and ranked seventh in the FBS in rushing yards last season. He was an All-America selection five times and a 2019 FWAA Freshman All-American, and he finished his UTSA career owning 20 school records, including career marks for rushing yards (3,929), rushing TDs (34), 100-yard rushing performances (18) and all-purpose yards (4,438).

More information, including television coverage, will be available soon. The 2022 NFL Draft is slated for April 28-30 in Las Vegas.
