SAN ANTONIO – UTSA volleyball will host six unique camps this summer at the Convocation Center.
UTSA will open its camp schedule on July 12 with a 1st Contact Camp. A pin hitter camp (July 13), hitter camp (July 14) and a libero camp (July 15) will lead to a four-session Elite Camp on July 17th and 18th. The camps from July 12th-15thwill have 2 sessions covering the exact same skills. Separate registration is required for each of the sessions.

July 12 –
1st Contact Camp
This camp will focus on the training associated with the various 1st contacts in volleyball. Serving, passing, and individual defense will all be covered over the course of the day. This camp is for any player striving to improve these areas, regardless of position. Campers will receive maximum repetitions through drill work and competitions.
July 13 –
Pin Hitter Camp
This camp is designed to develop all skills involved within the position of outside/right side hitter. Starting with the fundamentals, campers will focus on individual development within passing attacking, blocking, and defense. Campers will watch demos by UTSA players, followed by on-court training segments. This camp will challenge each camper to take their game to the next level.
July 14 –
Hitter Camp
This camp will focus solely on the individual development of campers while attacking in all positions. Campers will receive training in, footwork, arm swing mechanics, and the relationship with a setter. As a high intensity camp, campers will be challenged and pushed to develop their game.
July 15 –
Libero Camp
This camp is designed to focus on backrow play associated with the responsibilities in being a libero. Individual skill instruction within passing, defense, and Out of System Setting will be covered. They will learn through fundamental drills, demonstrations from the UTSA players, as well as challenging games.
July 12-14 – (5:30pm-7:30pm)
Lil' Runners Camp
This camp focuses on introducing the game of volleyball to the young player. Lighter balls, lower nets, and modified scoring will give the campers an opportunity to learn in a fun atmosphere with our UTSA players.
July 17-18 –
Elite Camp- July 17th (3 sessions- 9-11:30am, 1:30pm-4pm, and 6-8:30pm) & July 18th (1 session- 8:30am-11:30am)
This 2-day camp is designed to challenge campers to enhance all aspects of their game. Campers will be divided by skill and work with coaches to develop the skills of serving, passing, setting, attacking, blocking, and digging. This camp is designed to meet the needs of each player. Each session will begin with a demo by the UTSA players, followed by on-court training sessions.
