SAN ANTONIO – The UTSA women's basketball team will be tipping off conference play this week against Middle Tennessee on Dec. 30 at 7 p.m. and UAB on Jan. 1 at 2 p.m.
The Roadrunners start the week 3-8 after a 77-51 loss to Texas A&M.
LaPraisjah Johnson continues to lead the team in scoring with 107 points, averaging 9.7 per game. Jadyn Pimentel fuels the offense with a team leading 29 assists and 31 steals this season. Queen Ulabo continues to be a presence for UTSA in the paint with 76 rebounds this season, averaging 6-9 per game.
Scouting Middle Tennessee
The Blue Raiders come to the Convocation Center 8-2 after a close 62-61 win over Southern Illinois. Dor Saar leads Middle Tennessee's offense with 131 points this season. She leads with 32 assists. Alexis Whittington leads in the paint with 68 rebounds and has contributed a team high 25 steals.

Coming off a 77-43 win against Grambling State, the Blazers enter the Convocation Center 7-4 on the season. Zakyia Weathersby tops the chart this season in points with 187. She has recorded a season leading 125 rebounds and 22 blocked shots. Caitlynn Daniels has recorded a team leading 13 steals this season and Maria Roters had contributed a leading 38 assists.
Last Meeting
Against Middle Tennessee: This marks the seventh all-time meeting between the two teams. Middle Tennessee leads the series 6-0 after a 69-48 win on Feb. 1, 2020.
Against UAB: The Blazers lead the series 7-2 in the 10th all-time meeting between the teams. UAB clenched an 80-66 win in the last meeting with the Roadrunners on March 9, 2021.
