SAN ANTONIO – The UTSA women's basketball team hosts crosstown foe UIW this Sunday at the Convocation Center at 12 p.m.
The Roadrunners (0-3) have faced a pair of WAC opponents, losing to Stephen F. Austin in the season opener and the Abilene Christian Wildcats, before hosting Texas State earlier this week.
Lapraisjah Johnson leads the team in points with 39. She accompanies her points with 10 rebounds, eight assists and a block. Queen Ulabo has recorded 27 points in the three games played this season with 24 rebounds and four steals. Elyssa Coleman has 25 points this season with 14 boards and leads the team with a .625 scoring percentage.
Recapping Texas State
The Roadrunners dropped a 76-62 decision against Texas State, giving the Bobcats a win on Nov. 18. Johnson led the team with 13 points against the Bobcats. She followed up her scoring by recording four assists, five rebounds and an assist. Coleman grabbed a team-leading seven boards.
Scouting the Cardinals
The UIW Cardinals will enter the Convocation Center 1-2 after a 65-50 win over Texas Lutheran on Nov. 17.
Jaaucklyn Moore currently leads the team in points with 44 and in rebounding with 18. Destiny Jenkins follows Moore in 3-point scoring with four made on the season and in rebounding with 14.
Last Meeting
This game marks the fourth all-time meeting of the two teams. UTSA currently leads the series 2-1 after a 69-63 loss last season on Dec. 3.
