Women’s basketball hosts I-35 rival Texas State on Thursday

SAN ANTONIO – The UTSA women's basketball team comes home this Thursday to play Texas State at the Convocation Center. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. and will air on CUSA TV. 
 
The Roadrunners (0-2) have opened the year with a pair of matchups against Southland Conference foes, falling in the season opener to Stephen F. Austin, a team that won 24 games a year ago, before traveling to face Abilene Christian, with the Wildcats posting a win last Saturday. 
 
LaPraisjah Johnson leads the team with 26 points scored in two games, grabbing five rebounds and dishing out four assists. Queen Ulabo has 19 points and 16 rebounds in two games, while Elyssa Coleman has scored 13 points and Jadyn Pimentel owns 10 points and a team-leading five assists. Elena Blandinghas grabbed 15 rebounds in two games. 
 
Recapping Abilene Christian
The Roadrunners finished the game 72-53, giving Abilene Christian a win on Nov. 13. LaPraisjah Johnson led the team with 13 points and Queen Ulabo posted 10 rebounds. 
 
Scouting Texas State
The Bobcats enter the game 1-1 after defeating Huston Tillotson University 82-48 on Nov. 14.
 
Presley Bennett and Da'Nasia Hood led the team with 13 points each and Kennedy Taylor made history by reaching her 400th career assist. 
 
Last Meeting
This game marks the sixty-eighth time the two squads will meet with Texas State leading the series 33-35 with the last meeting on Dec. 4, 2019.
