SAN ANTONIO — Coming off a team title at the Lone Star Invitational less than two weeks ago, the UTSA men's golf team will travel to Dallas to play in the Trinity Forest Invitational on Monday-Tuesday, Oct. 4-5, at Trinity Forest Golf Club (par 71/7,330 yards).
The Roadrunners, who are No. 36 in the latest Golfweek collegiate team rankings, will compete against Abilene Christian, Florida Atlantic, Kansas City, Little Rock, Louisiana Tech, Middle Tennessee, North Texas, Rice, Sam Houston, SMU, UNLV, UT Arlington and UTRGV. The field will play 36 holes on Monday and 18 on Tuesday.
Following a runner-up showing in the season-opening Jim Rivers Intercollegiate on Sept. 12-14, UTSA captured its 26th overall team championship by running away with the Lone Star Invitational crown on Sept. 20-21 at TPC San Antonio Oaks Course. Hunter Bott and Michael Rome shared individual medalist honors at even-par 216 to lead the way, while Christian Fanfelle and Jack Wehman tied for eighth place and David Harrison finished 13th.
The Roadrunners earned a second-place finish at the Trinity Forest Invitational earlier this calendar year, carding a 10-over 862 for runner-up honors in a 15-team field. Chad Sewell tied for seventh, Collin Clark grabbed a share of 17th and Fanfelle was 20th to pace the lineup.
