HATTIESBURG, Miss. – The UTSA volleyball team fell to Southern Miss 3-0 Saturday afternoon at the Wellness Center.
The first set started out close until Southern Miss hit a 6-0 run to take a 13-7 lead. The Roadrunners came back within four (14-10), but two more short runs from the Golden Eagles helped clinch the set.
In the second, the teams battled it out as the set was tied nine times until Southern Miss hit multiple point surges to win 25-19.
The battle continued in the third as the lead changed throughout the set. After the Roadrunners tied the set 10-10, the Golden Eagles hit a 10-0 run to take a huge lead and clinch the match.
The Roadrunners return to the court Oct. 8-9 when they host UAB.
