SAN ANTONIO – The UTSA volleyball team returns home this weekend to host the UAB Blazers. Friday's match takes place at 4 p.m. and first serve on Saturday is set for 11 a.m. at the Convocation Center.
Scouting UTSA
UTSA enters the weekend 5-11 overall and 2-2 in C-USA after travelling to Southern Miss last weekend and falling 0-2 to the Golden Eagles.
Kirby Smith currently leads the team in kills with 103 and Hunter Coppola is close behind with 96. Amanda Ifeanyi is on top with 56 blocks, while Mia Ybarra leads with 240 digs.
Scouting UAB
UAB comes into this weekend 7-7 and 2-0 in conference. The Blazers played at Old Dominion last weekend in a non-conference matchup where they split the series. UAB swept Southern Miss on September 24-25 to open 2-0 in C-USA.
The Blazers are led by Fernanda Maida with 264 kills and 20 aces and Erin Powers with 193 digs.
This will be the 14th meeting between the two teams with UTSA leading the series 11-2.
