SAN ANTONIO – UTSA men's tennis senior Joao Ceolin has earned a preseason No. 66 ranking by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association, it was announced on Tuesday afternoon.
Ceolin, a native of Palotina, Brazil, checks in No. 66 in the ITA rankings of the top 125 singles players in college, and was tabbed as the second-highest ranked player in Conference USA.
He comes into his senior season on a 10-match winning streak in singles, after going 13-3 in the spring of 2021. Ceolin went 7-1 on court 2 during the season, 4-2 on court 3 and 2-0 on court 4.
He earned first-team All-Conference USA honors last year in singles and was named C-USA Player of the Week on April 9 after his ninth straight singles win, which helped UTSA sweep Rice.
UTSA opens its fall tournament schedule with a pair of tournaments this weekend, splitting the team with trips to the Corpus-Christi Invitational and the Midland Invitational in Midland, Texas.
