SAN ANTONIO — Jake Smith and Harrison Wade each had top-25 finishes to lead the UTSA cross country teams on Friday night at the UIW Twilight, which was held at the Classics Elite Soccer Academy at McAllister Park.
UTSA ran an all-freshmen lineup in the first meet of the year for the women in the 4K, with Lily Morrill, Chante Dixon Savana Alt and Carolina Ortiz each earning top-35 finishes. Morrill led the way by clocking a time of 16:01.1 for 28th, followed closely by Dixon in 31st (16:14.2).
Smith clocked a 19:32.2 for 6K to finish 19th and lead the men, with Wade turning in a 23rd-place finish in 19:47.0. Michael Paredes and Luke Lawhorn also notched top-35 finishes.
The Roadrunners will return to the course on Sept. 25 when they travel to College Station for the Texas A&M Invitational.
