SAN ANTONIO – The UTSA volleyball team travels to Hattiesburg, Miss. this weekend to take on Southern Miss. Friday's match starts at 6 p.m. and Saturday's first serve is set for 12 p.m. at the Wellness Center.
Scouting UTSA
UTSA enters the weekend 5-9 overall and 2-0 in C-USA action after sweeping Louisiana Tech last weekend. The Roadrunners won Friday night 3-0 and topped the Lady Techsters 3-1 on Saturday.
Kirby Smith and Courtney Walters led the way with both recording two double-doubles over the weekend.
Hunter Coppola currently leads the team in fills with 96 and Smith follows right behind with 95. Amanda Ifeanyi is on top with 48 blocks, while Mia Ybarra leads with 202 digs.
Scouting Southern Miss
Southern Miss comes into the weekend 8-8 and 0-2 in conference after being swept by UAB last weekend. The Blazers won 3-0 on Friday, followed by a 3-1 victory Saturday afternoon.
The Golden Eagles are led by Mia Wesley with 211 kills and 21 aces and Aliah Giroux with 252 digs.
This will be the 12th meeting between the two squads with UTSA leading the series 11-1.
