Breitbach, Reckow earn ITA Scholar-Athlete status

SAN ANTONIO – UTSA senior men's tennis standouts Kai Breitbach and Juri Reckow have earned Scholar-Athlete honors from the Intercollegiate Tennis Association. 
 
The pair of UTSA seniors sported strong GPAs to meet the qualifications of 3.5+ over the course of the academic year. Reckow had a 4.00 GPA as a Business-Economics major and Breitbach finished with a 3.8 GPA as a Business-Finance major over the course of the year. 
 
Breitbach and Reckow led the Roadrunners to a tremendous season in 2021, helping UTSA to 13-win campaign and a No. 4 seed in the C-USA Championships. 
 
Reckow earned first-team All-Conference USA honors for a second consecutive year in singles, earning a 12-4 record and a 9-3 mark on line 1. He sported a stretch of nine straight singles wins, and after putting up a 9-0 record in a COVID-19 impacted 2020, and opening the year 11-1 in 2021, he won 20 of 21 singles decisions. He was a two-time C-USA Player of the Week in 2021. 
 
Breitbach was a lead player for the Roadrunners throughout his four-year career. He posted 21 singles points over his four-year career, including a 12-win season in 2018, ranking second on the team.
