SAN ANTONIO – The UTSA men's basketball team will play a total of 18 games as part of its Conference USA schedule, announced on Friday.
The Roadrunners will play nine total games at the Convocation Center and will venture to nine road contests. UTSA will play UAB, Southern Miss, Louisiana Tech, North Texas and Rice in home-and-home affairs. After a modified schedule format in 2020-21, the league returns to traditional Thursday-Saturday matchups in 2021-22.
UTSA opens its 2021-22 league slate with a pair of road tilts, facing Middle Tennessee on Dec. 30 in Murfreesboro, Tenn., before traveling to Birmingham to face UAB on Jan. 1.
UTSA will then open its home C-USA schedule with a Jan. 6 matchup vs. Southern Miss and a Jan. 8 test vs. Louisiana Tech.
The Roadrunners will play five of their first seven league contests on the road, including a three-game road swing starting on Jan. 13 at Old Dominion, traveling to Charlotte on Jan. 15 and UTEP on Jan. 20.
UTEP makes a return trip to San Antonio on Jan. 23 – starting a three-game homestand – with UTSA also hosting FIU on Jan. 27 and Florida Atlantic on Jan. 29.
UTSA travels to Rice on Feb. 3 and North Texas on Feb. 5 before welcoming Western Kentucky for a Feb. 13 matchup at The Convo.
UTSA concludes its road league slate at Southern Miss on Feb. 17 and Louisiana Tech on Feb. 19. The Roadrunners will then wrap up the regular-season schedule with a Feb. 24 matchup vs. UAB, a March 3 test vs. North Texas and a March 5 matchup vs. Rice.
