NASHVILLE, Tenn. — A league-high 15 members of the UTSA football team have been named to the Athlon Sports Preseason Conference USA Team.
UTSA's 15 selections are three more than Florida Atlantic, Marshall and UAB, who each have 12 picks.
Eight Roadrunners — also the most in the conference — earned a spot on the first team. All-American running back Sincere McCormick, wide receiver Zakhari Franklin and offensive linemen Spencer Burford and Ahofitu Maka were picked for the offense, linebacker Trevor Harmanson and safety Rashad Wisdom made the defense and the All-American tandem of punter Lucas Dean and kicker Hunter Duplessis were selected for the first-team specialists.
Offensive lineman Makai Hart, defensive lineman Lorenzo Dantzler and outside linebacker Charles Wiley were named to the second team, while cornerback Corey Mayfield Jr. was tapped for the third team. Fourth-team honorees include quarterback Frank Harris, defensive lineman Jaylon Haynes and linebacker Jamal Ligon.
