DENTON, Texas – North Texas clinched the series after sweeping the UTSA softball team on Saturday at Lovelace Stadium.
Game one
The Roadrunners dropped a 4-2 decision to UNT in game one of the doubleheader.
North Texas was on the board early with two runs in the first.
In the second, Kindell Brooks opened with a single and Marena Estell followed with a home run to left field to tie the game (2-2).
The Mean Green added two more runs off three hits in the fourth to take back the lead (4-2).
The Roadrunners recorded four hits on the day.
Alexa Williams pitched one inning with one strikeout before Tatum Seith entered the game for the remaining five innings and had two strikeouts.
Game two
A single run in the sixth helped the Mean Green take game three and clinch the series.
In the sixth, North Texas scored the lone run off a double and an error to lead 1-0 and ultimately take the game.
Clarissa Hernandez pitched six innings and recorded three strikeouts.
The Roadrunners and the Mean Green close out the series tomorrow at 12 p.m.
