DENTON, Texas -- The UTSA softball team fell to North Texas in a 7-0 decision Friday afternoon at Lovelace Stadium.
The Mean Green took an early lead in the bottom of the first scoring four runs off six hits.
In the fourth, the Mean Green extended the lead (5-0) with a run off a double.
UNT added a pair of runs to the board in the sixth (7-0).
The Roadrunners were scoreless on the evening.
UTSA posted one hit on the day, while the Mean Green had 13.
Madison Nelson started in the circle, pitching 5.1 innings with three strikeouts. Marena Estell came in and pitched 0.2 innings with one strikeout.
The Roadrunners return to the field tomorrow for the second game of the series. First pitch is set for 1 p.m.
