DALLAS — For the second time this season, UTSA's Faith Roberson has been named Conference USA Outdoor Female Track Athlete of the Week, the league office announced Wednesday.
Roberson, a transfer from Angelo State, continued to shine in the 400-meter hurdles in her debut season with UTSA by posting a win last Friday night at the Texas A&M Team Invitational in College Station. The junior from Wall, Texas, clocked a time of 58.84 seconds to finish ahead of TCU's Kyla Robinson-Hubbard (59.08) and earn her first victory in the event this year.
Roberson, who also collected the C-USA Female Track Athlete of the Week honor on March 31, leads the league and ranks seventh nationally with her school-record time of 57.54 posted at the Texas Relays on March 27 in Austin.
This marks the seventh time this year that a Roadrunner has earned the conference weekly award. Roberson joins two-time indoor winner Bashiru Abdullahi, Chante Dixon, Ingeborg Gruenwald and Andrew Pirog on that list.
UTSA is set to host the Roadrunner Invitational on Thursday-Saturday, April 15-17, at Park West Athletics Complex. No spectators are allowed due to COVID-19 protocols.
