EUGENE, Ore. – No. 47 Oregon posted a 4-0 win over UTSA men's tennis in the regular-season finale for the Roadrunners, on Tuesday afternoon at the UO Student Tennis Center.
UTSA (13-7) had its three-match winning streak snapped on Tuesday night at Oregon (14-5), as the Ducks were able to claim the doubles point on courts 2 and 3 and finished off the match with wins on court 3, 4 and 5 in singles for a 4-0 win.
The ranked matchup in singles saw Juri Reckow (Hamburg, Germany) – ranked No. 121 – facing No. 91 Emmanuel Coste. Reckow claimed the first set, 6-4 but the match went unfinished with Coste leading 3-0 in a potential evening set on court 1.
In doubles, Joao Ceolin (Palotina, Brazil) and Slava Gulin (Moscow, Russia) faced off with the nation's No. 70 doubles team, Joshua Charlton and Quinn Vandecasteele in a match that went unfinished on court 1.
The Roadrunners will return to action in 10 days at the Conference USA Championships, hosted by Charlotte April 23-25.
