RUSTON, La. – Freshman Kelsey Carpenter had a career-high nine kills to highlight UTSA volleyball's four-set win (20-25, 25-10, 25-19) at Louisiana Tech on Monday afternoon at the Thomas Assembly Center.
UTSA (5-9, 3-5 C-USA) bounced back after losing the first set to cruise by Louisiana Tech (1-15, 0-8 C-USA) in Ruston, completing the two-match sweep with a 3-0 win on Sunday afternoon.
The Roadrunners were led by a 13-kill, four-block performance from Jessica Langridge.
UTSA also got 10 kills and 15 digs from Kirby Smith, and an 10-kill effort from Alison Jennings, who also added four blocks.
Carpenter, a native of Midlothian, Texas, shattered her previous career high in kills with a nine-kill effort.
A native of Verona, N.J., Hunter Coppola added eight kills and three blocks.
Sophomore setter Courtney Walters was an all-around force in the win, collecting 46 assists, 10 digs, four aces, three kills and two blocks.
Junior Mia Ybarra had a team-leading 22 digs. Mia Perales added 17 digs.
UTSA hit .242 in the win, with LA Tech held to a .110 percentage.
UTSA will return to action on Sunday and Monday in San Antonio, hosting Southern Miss at the Convocation Center.
