Reckow claims fifth singles win in sweep of Ragin’ Cajuns

SAN ANTONIO – Juri Reckow (Hamburg, Germany) won his fifth singles point of the year and his 13th in his last 14 matches – dating back to last year – leading UTSA men's tennis to a 4-0 win over Louisiana-Lafayette, on Friday afternoon at the UTSA Tennis Center. 
 
UTSA (5-3) won its fourth match in its last five outings, which includes wins over UTRGV, New Mexico State, UT Arlington and the Ragin' Cajuns. UTSA's lone loss in the stretch came at SMU. 
 
The Roadrunners saw Reckow improve to 5-1 in singles, a year after he went 9-0 to earn all-conference honors. Reckow claimed a 6-4, 6-4 win on court 1 and tamed with Slava Gulin (Moscow, Russia) for a 6-3 win in doubles on court 2. 
 
Sebastian Rodriguez (Trujillo, Peru) posted a 6-1, 6-2 win on court 2 in singles, with Javier Gonzalez (San Fernando, Chile), Gulin and Javier Rodriguez (Trujillo, Peru) each seeing their singles matches unfinished with them leading or tied. 
 
Joao Ceolin (Palotina, Brazil) won on court 4, 1-6, 6-1, 6-2. 
 
UTSA will return to action on Sunday, hosting Abilene Christian at 1 p.m. at the UTSA Tennis Center.
