SAN ANTONIO — The UTSA women's golf team will travel to Argyle, Texas, to compete in The Bruzzy, which will be held on Sunday-Monday, March 28-29, at Lantana Golf Club (par 72/6,241 yards).
Ranked 53rd in the latest Golfstat rankings, the Roadrunners will line up against Colorado, No. 17 Houston, No. 29 Iowa State, Kansas State, No. 16 Miami, Missouri, No. 38 and host North Texas, No. 33 Oklahoma, No. 7 Oklahoma State, San Diego State, SMU, No. 42 TCU, No. 21 Texas, No. 30 Texas Tech and Tulane. The field will play 36 holes on Monday and 18 on Tuesday with 8:30 a.m. shotgun starts slated for both days.
UTSA is coming off a runner-up finish at the Maryb S. Kauth Invitational on March 9-10 in San Antonio. Camryn Carreon placed fifth, Ana Gonzalez tied for sixth and Hannah Holzmann grabbed a share of eighth to lead the way for the Roadrunners at their annual home tournament.
The Roadrunners last played in The Bruzzy in 2018 when it was held at Maridoe Golf Club in Carrollton, Texas, finishing 15th behind a 41st-place effort from Gonzalez. Last year's event was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
