Roadrunners ready for Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays

SAN ANTONIO — Fresh off a solid performance at the outdoor season-opening UTSA Invitational, several members of the UTSA track & field teams will travel to Austin to compete in the 93rd Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays.

One of the top annual meets in the country, the Texas Relays will be held on Thursday-Saturday, March 25-27, at Mike A. Myers Stadium.

The Roadrunners will send a partial squad to the UT campus, including Alanah Yukich, Andrew Pirog and Bashiru Abdullahi, who will compete in Invitational sections on Saturday, and Maia Campbell and Danielle Spence, who are slated for "A" sections in the shot put and triple jump, respectively.

The Roadrunners made the most of their first outdoor meet since the 2019 campaign by winning three events and breaking a pair of school records at the UTSA Invitational last week at Park West Athletics Complex.

Yukich smashed the women's 400-meter hurdles mark by more than a second with a winning time of 58.70 seconds, while Pirog made it a UTSA sweep with a 51.84 clocking to grab the gold medal in the men's race.

Sigrid Kleive posted a pair of runner-up finishes in the field, eclipsing the school standard in the javelin with a throw of 45.51m (149-4) and clearing 1.76m (5-9.25) in the high jump.
