SAN ANTONIO – Hannah Lopez had 13 kills and 15 digs as part of her fourth double-double of the year, leading UTSA volleyball to a five-set win (25-19, 27-25, 14-25, 14-25, 15-13) at UAB to conclude the 2021 spring season, on Monday afternoon.
UTSA (7-11, 5-7 Conference USA) finished its 2021-21 spring season with a five-set win over UAB (8-7, 7-5 C-USA), posting wins in the first two sets before UAB rallied to force a fifth set. The Roadrunners fought off the Blazers in a tight fifth to claim the win.
Lopez, a product of San Antonio's Churchill High School notched her fourth double-double of the year with a 13-kill, 15-dig performance. UTSA also got 10 kills from Hunter Coppola and Bianca Ejesieme, with Ejesieme adding eight blocks.
Mia Perales had 14 digs, with Courtney Walters going for 40 assists and 13 digs in her team-leading eighth double-double of the year.
Mia Ybarra had 12 digs, with Kirby Smith adding a kill and 10 digs.
Jessica Langridge and Alison Jennings each finished with five blocks.
UTSA hit .102 in the win, holding UAB to a .193 hitting percentage.
The match ends UTSA's season as the Roadrunners were knocked out of contention for the C-USA Championship.
