SAN ANTONIO – After averaging a double-double over a pair of games, UTSA senior guard Keaton Wallace has been named Conference USA Player of the Week, it was announced by the league office on Monday afternoon.
A product of Dallas' Richardson High School, Wallace had another historic weekend in leading UTSA to its eighth win in its last 10 games, as the Roadrunners split a home series vs. UAB. He averaged 21.5 points, 10 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 1.5 steals per game over the week.
In Friday's matchup with the Blazers, Wallace went for 21 points and a career-high 13 rebounds, with two assists. He followed that up on Saturday with a 22-point, seven-rebound, seven-assist and two-steal effort on Senior Day.
Wallace became the 615th player in NCAA history to reach the 2,000 point mark in their careers on Saturday in the win over UAB. He now ranks seventh in C-USA and second in school annals in scoring, also ranking second in UTSA and fifth in C-USA history in made 3-pointers. He moved into ninth in UTSA history in career rebounds and third in career games played on Saturday.
He has scored in double figures in 19 of UTSA's 23 games in 2020-21 and in 100 games in his career. He has 20+ in four career games. Wallace averages 15.8 points per game as a senior, sporting career highs in rebounds (5.4) and assists (3.0) per game. Over his career, Wallace has scored 16.5 points and 4.4 rebounds per outing.
This marks the third career C-USA Player of the Week honor for Wallace and the sixth C-USA weekly nod of his career, including three C-USA Freshman of the Week accolades in 2017-18.
