CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas -- The UTSA men's tennis team cruised to a 7-0 sweep over UTRGV on Saturday afternoon in the H-E-B Invitational, hosted by Texas A&M-Corpus Christi at the Thomas J. Henry Tennis Center.
UTSA (2-2) posted the sweep over UTRGV (3-5) using the doubles points, secured by the combination of Sebastian Rodriguez (Trujillo, Peru) Joao Ceolin (Palontina, Brazil), and Javier Gonzalez (San Fernando, Chile) and Garrett Skelly (The Woodlands, Texas). Each of the four doubles winners went on to claim a point in their singles matches, including a 4-6, 6-3, 10-8 win from Ceolin.
Juri Reckow (Hamburg, Germany) and Slava Gulin (Moscow, Russia) also earned singles points for the Roadrunners in the sweep.
UTSA will return to action on Sunday, facing New Mexico State at 10 a.m. at the Thomas J. Henry Tennis Center in Corpus Christi.
