SAN ANTONIO -- Jacob Germany went for a career-high 26 points as part of his fifth career double-double and Jhivvan Jackson had a game-high 30 points, leading UTSA men's basketball past Florida Atlantic on Friday night at the Convocation Center.
UTSA (11-9, 7-6 Conference USA) posted the win over FAU (8-8, 3-4 C-USA) behind the outstanding performances from Germany and Jackson.
The Roadrunners built a 44-41 lead at halftime and outscored the Owls 40-39 in the second half to secure the win. UTSA held the lead for 36 minutes in the game, with the Roadrunners able to hold off FAU's late second-half charge – that saw the Owls take a 3-point lead with just under 10 minutes left – outscoring FAU 23-16 to close the game and secure the win.
It marked UTSA's ninth win in 10 home games on the year and improved UTSA to 6-1 over its last seven games. Under Coach Steve Henson, the Roadrunners own a 53-17 record at the Convocation Center.
A sophomore center out of Kingston, Okla., Germany had 26 points, 12 rebounds and three blocks over 33 minutes. He was 13 of 21 from the field, career highs in both categories.
Jackson, UTSA's all-time leading scorer and the No. 3 scorer in league history, had a game-high 30 points on 11 of 21 shooting, including four 3-pointers, adding six rebounds and six assists. It marked his third 30+ point scoring outing of the year and the 23rd of his career.
A native of Bayamon, Puerto Rico, Jackson has scored 2,441 career points, which moves him into 93rd in the history of college basketball. Jackson passed notable names, including Indiana's Steve Alford (2,438 point) and St. John's guard Chris Mullin (2,440) with his latest 30-point outburst. He sits a point shy of Glen Rice (2,442) for 92nd in NCAA history. UTEP's Stefon Jackson (2,456) and Marshall's Jon Elmore (2,638) are the only players in league history who have scored more.
Last year, Jackson averaged a league-record 26.8 points per game, also setting UTSA and league standards for single-season points.

UTSA also got 14 points and eight rebounds from Cedrick Alley Jr., and six points from Eric Parrish. Keaton Wallace had six assists and two boards to go with his six points, including four key free throws in the final minute.
FAU was paced by Kenan Blackshear, who had 20 points and 10 rebounds.
UTSA shot 47 percent in the win, despite going just 6 of 18 from 3-point range. The Roadrunners held FAU to 40 percent from the field, with the Owls making 13 3-pointers to stay in the game.
The Roadrunners outrebounded FAU, 42-41, owning a 40-28 margin in points in the paint. UTSA had assists on 18 of its 34 buckets.
The series will conclude on Saturday at 3 p.m. on ESPN+ and Ticket 760 AM.
UTSA scored the first six of the game, including two midrange jumpers from Germany, and a Wallace transition finish. After FAU got on the board, Jackson drilled a stepback 3-pointer and Germany finished at the rim for an 11-2 lead and forcing an FAU timeout.
Germany answered an FAU bucket with a pair of post-move baskets, including a fadeaway on the block that gave him 10 of our first 15.
After FAU cut the lead to 15-9, Jackson finished at the rim on a backdoor cut find from Phoenix Ford. Eric Parrish's post move hook shot gave UTSA a 19-14 lead and Parrish answered an FAU bucket with a finish in transition from Jackson's outlet pass.
Ford got on the board with a tough finish in the paint to give UTSA a 23-17 lead but FAU responded with a post bucket from Dardan Kapiti before the media break, cutting the lead to 23-19.
Alley Jr. made a pair at the free-throw line – after he forced a key second foul on FAU star Jailyn Ingram – and then drilled a corner 3-pointer to give UTSA a 28-19 lead. After a Karlis Silins 3-pointer for the Owls, Jackson answered with a foul-line jumper, taking the lead to 33-24 with 7:08 left in the first.
The Owls ripped off five straight to force a UTSA timeout following a 3-pointer from BJ Greenlee. After Jackson's take to the rim, FAU scored eight of the next 10 points, including a 3-pointer from Alijah Martin to even the game at 37 with 2:47 left in the first.
UTSA then ripped off a 7-0 run to regain the lead, including a Jackson layup and wing 3-pointer, and a Germany layup after a Lachlan Bofinger dribble drive. FAU scored the next four to cut the lead to 44-41 at halftime. UTSA shot 54 percent in the first half but FAU shot 45 percent, going 7 of 13 from 3-point range to stay in the game. Jackson and Germany each had 14 in the first half.
Alley got the scoring started in the second half with an aggressive take to the rim and Germany finished a pair at the rim – including a monster alley-oop – to give UTSA a 50-44 lead. FAU scored the next four points before Alley's dunk.
Jackson took the lead to 54-50 before FAU scored the next five to take a 55-54 lead and force a timeout. Parrish gave UTSA the lead back with a paint bucket and Germany extended it with a putback.
After FAU evened it at 58 on a 3-pointer, Jackson answered with a stepback 3-pointer from the corner for a 61-58 lead at the under-12 minute media break.
The Owls scored the next six, including an and-1 from Blackshear, for a 64-61 lead with 9:50 left.
Jackson answered with a midrange jumper, highly contested, and Germany's putback gave UTSA a 65-64 lead with 9:02 left.
Germany sank a midrange jumper from the wing and Alley drilled a midrange of his own for a 69-64 lead with 7:03 left in regulation.
UTSA's run continued to 9-0 after Wallace sank a pair at the foul line. FAU snapped the run with a tough shot in the paint but Jackson's slam on Alley's offensive rebound gave UTSA a 73-66 lead with 4:25 left, forcing a FAU timeout.
After FAU cut the lead to five, Jackson drilled his fourth 3-pointer and Germany answered an FAU bucket with a post-move score.
Jackson sank a pair at the line with 33.4 left to give UTSA an 80-70 lead. Blackshear then drilled a 3-pointer with 24.8 to cut the lead to seven.
After a UTSA turnover, Michael Forrest sank a contested 3-pointer on the next possession to cut the lead to 80-76 with 21.3 left.
Jackson was fouled on the next possession and hit both at the line for an 82-76 lead with 19 seconds left. Blackshear was fouled after he hit a corner 3-pointer with 8.8 seconds left, sinking his free throw for a four-point play to cut the UTSA lead to 82-80.
Wallace was fouled after the FAU free throw, hitting both for an 84-80 lead with 6.5 seconds left.
