Fourth-quarter comeback pushes Lady Techsters past Roadrunners

SAN ANTONIO – Louisiana Tech scored 31 points in the fourth quarter to post a 69-51 comeback win over the UTSA women's basketball team Friday evening at the Convocation Center.
 
The game started off slow as both teams struggled to find the basket. At the halfway point, the Roadrunners led 5-4 until they hit a 7-0 run to lead 11-5 after the first.
 
Louisiana Tech hit a 6-2 run by the 6:25 mark to close the gap to two (13-11). UTSA hit a short scoring drought before going on an 8-2 run over a three minute span to lead 21-14. Another scoring drought allowed the Lady Techsters to close the gap, but the Roadrunners were able to hold onto the lead (24-19) at the break.
 
Coming out of the locker room, LA Tech opened with an 8-3 run to tie the game at 27 with 7:07 remaining. UTSA hit a short scoring drought as the Lady Techsters hit another run (6-0) to take the lead, 29-27. The Roadrunners then went on a 9-0 scoring run to lead 38-33 with 2:19 remaining. In the last two minutes, LA Tech outscored UTSA 5-2 to tie the game at 38 at the end of the quarter.
 
In the fourth, the Lady Techsters opened with an 11-0 run to lead 49-38. Mikayla Woods broke the UTSA scoring drought, but another scoring run by LA Tech pushed the gap even further. The Lady Techsters outscored the Roadrunners 31-13 in the quarter to take the lead and garner the win.
