SAN ANTONIO – The UTSA women's basketball team fell to Rice 53-78 Friday afternoon at the Convocation Center.
In the first quarter, the Owls found the basket early and led 16-3 going to the second.
UTSA hit a scoring streak in the second. Both teams battled it out as the Roadrunners hit a 7-0 run towards the end of the quarter to close the gap, but it wasn't quite enough as Rice led 31-20 at the break.
Coming out of the locker room, the Owls continued to score to push the lead to 20 (38-58). In the final 10 minutes, Rice outscored the Roadrunners 20-15 to keep the lead and claim the game.
