SAN ANTONIO – The UTSA men's tennis team will open its home 2020 schedule with a matchup against cross-town foe UIW on Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the UTSA Tennis Center.
UTSA (1-2) hosts UIW in its home opener on Wednesday after opening the year with four straight on the road. The Roadrunners opened the year with a loss at UC Davis, had a match at Pacific cancelled due to weather and fell against Portland in Dallas.
The Roadrunners earned a 5-2 win over Louisiana-Lafayette in their last match, getting a strong outings from freshman Sebastian Rodriguez (Trujillo, Peru).
Juri Reckow (Hamburg, Germany) owns a 3-0 record in singles to open the year, while Sebastian Rodriguez and senior Kai Breitbach (Kaarst, Germany) have a 2-1 record in singles.
In doubles, Sebastian Rodriguez has combined to go 4-0 over three pairings, including a 2-0 mark with freshman Joao Alcantara (Santos, Brazil).
UTSA has earned a 5-3 record in doubles as a team in 2020 and an 8-10 mark in singles.
