UTSA falls short in a battle for the ball at UIW

SAN ANTONIO – Adryana Quezada recorded a double-double of 20 points and 16 rebounds as the Roadrunners fell short to UIW, 63-69 Thursday night.
 
Starting from tip-off, the entire game was a battle for the ball. In the first quarter, the score was tied four times until UTSA was able to find the basket with nine seconds remaining and lead 18-17 at the end of the quarter. In the second, the Cardinals outscored the Roadrunners by just two points (14-12) to lead 31-30 going into the locker room.
 
In the third, the battle continued as Quezada posted eight points and UTSA shot 31.1 percent from the field, but it wasn't enough as UIW scored 22 points to lead 53-47. In the final 10 minutes of the game, both teams scored 16 points each, which helped the Cardinals maintain the lead and take the win.
