Men’s tennis announces 2021 schedule

SAN ANTONIO – The UTSA men's tennis team will face a schedule of 20 matches, including six home tests, as part of its 2021 schedule, it was announced on Wednesday evening by second year head coach Sergey Avdeyev
 
The Roadrunners will play a total of six matches at the UTSA Tennis Complex, will have 10 true road matches and four neutral-site contests in 2021. 
 
The season will open on Jan. 15 in San Diego, part of a two-day swing for the Roadrunners to open the season. UTSA then hits the road to New Orleans for matches at Tulane (Jan. 22) and LSU (Jan. 23). 
 
UTSA then ventures north to SMU's campus for a match with Nebraska (Feb. 13) and at the Mustangs (Feb. 14), before traveling to play in the Islander Invitational (Feb. 19-20) in Corpus Christi, Texas, and facing Texas-Arlington on Feb. 26. 
 
UTSA's home opener will come on March 5 vs. Louisiana at 2 p.m., with UTSA also hosting Abilene Christian on March 7 at the UTSA Tennis Complex. 
 
The Roadrunners will travel to Oklahoma (March 10), Tulsa (March 12) and Wichita State (March 13) as part of a three-match road swing, before hosting Texas A&M Corpus Christi on March 18. 
 
UTSA travels across town for the first of a twinbill on March 20, facing UIW at 11 a.m. before hosting UTRGV at 3 p.m.
 
A neutral-site meeting with South Florida in Austin on March 26, a home test with Lamar on March 28 wrap up March for the Roadrunners. 
 
UTSA travels to face league foe Rice in Houston on April 3, before hosting Texas-Arlington in the regular-season finale on April 10. 
 
The Conference USA Championships are slated for April 23-25 in Charlotte, N.C.
