Softball signs six to NLIs

SAN ANTONIO – The UTSA softball team added six signees to the 2021 signing class announced by head coach Michelle Cheatham on Wednesday.
 
"We are very excited to bring in this 2021 recruiting class," Cheatham said. "They are not only talented student athletes, but all bring versatility to help continue to build the strength of our offense and dynamic options to the defense."
 
Sophie Campbell
Position: Infielder
Hometown: Corpus Christi, Texas
High school: Flour Bluff HS

The impressive thing about her is that she still has agility of someone with a smaller stature to play a very solid middle infield position with great hands and footwork."

Position: Outfielder
Hometown: Crawfordville, Fla.
High school: Wakulla HS

Along with being the offensive player of the year in high school, she also participated on the power lifting team and will bring a strong base of athleticism to the roster."
 
Bio:  Named 2019 Offensive Player of the Year … four-time district champion … three-time regional champion … 2019 regional runner-up … 2016 state champion … two-time state runner-up … also on the weightlifting team where she placed third at state in 2020.

Position: Outfielder
Hometown: Houston, Texas
High school: St. Pius X HS

Position: Infielder
