Gonzalez earns third career all-conference certificate

DALLAS — UTSA junior Ana Gonzalez has earned her third career All-Conference USA certificate, as the league office on Wednesday unveiled its women's golf postseason awards.

Gonzalez was named to the third team in a vote by the league's head coaches, marking the third straight year the Monterrey, Mexico, native has earned all-conference honors.

Gonzalez led the Roadrunners with a 74.1 stroke average in a season cut short by the COVID-19 pandemic. She registered her top finish of the campaign with a third-place showing at the Mercedes-Benz Collegiate Championship after firing a 7-under-par 206 (71-67-68), the second-best 54-hole total in program history behind her 205 at the 2017 event. She shared 24th place to help the Roadrunners win the Texas State Invitational team crown in February and carded a 218 (76-69-73) to tie for 38th at the Jim West Challenge. Gonzalez tied for 10th with a 225 (73-77-75) to help lead UTSA to the Maryb S. Kauth Invitational title in March in the team's final tournament of the season.

UTSA now has garnered 33 all-conference certificates in its 15-year history, including five in three seasons under head coach Summer Batiste.
