SAN ANTONIO — UTSA head coach Jeff Traylor announced Tuesday that he has added UMass graduate transfer Brennon Dingle to the Roadrunners' 2020 signing class.
Dingle, a native of Baltimore, Md., signed a financial aid agreement on Tuesday. The wide receiver will be able to use his one remaining season of eligibility immediately this upcoming season.
The addition of Dingle pushes the 2020 signing class total to 19, as nine inked during the early signing period in December, eight more signed on Feb. 5 and former Smithson Valley High School and New Mexico State quarterback Josh Adkins was added in April.
After redshirting in 2016, Dingle played in 36 games and drew 14 starts over the past three seasons for UMass. He caught 63 passes for 838 yards and seven touchdowns, averaging 13.3 yards per reception as a Minuteman.
As a redshirt freshman in 2017, Dingle had 21 catches for 330 yards and four TDs for an average of 15.7 yards per reception. He was on the receiving end of four passes for 59 yards and two scores against Ohio and he produced 88 receiving yards on four receptions against Georgia Southern and 41 yards on three grabs in a win against BYU.
Dingle finished his sophomore campaign with 19 catches for 269 yards (14.2 avg.) and a pair of touchdowns and also rushed four times for 72 yards. He had 61 yards and a score on three catches in the win over Duquesne and registered three grabs for 45 yards and a TD against USF.
In 2019, Dingle made 23 catches for 239 yards and a touchdown. He had four receptions for a season-best 66 yards against Northwestern and hauled in four passes for 65 yards, including a 30-yard TD, versus Coastal Carolina.
Dingle was an all-district performer for Perry Hall High School in Baltimore after scoring 13 touchdowns as a senior.
