SAN ANTONIO — The UTSA women's golf team will host the Maryb S. Kauth Invitational this Tuesday-Wednesday, March 10-11, at San Antonio Country Club (par 72/6,159 yards).
The Roadrunners will welcome Belmont, Houston Baptist, Middle Tennessee, Old Dominion, Texas State, UIW, ULM and Wichita State to the Alamo City for the 54-hole event. Formerly called The Alamo Invitational, the tournament is in its 11th year and was renamed in 2016 in honor of the late Maryb S. Kauth. This will mark the first time it will be held at San Antonio Country Club.
The field will play 36 holes on Tuesday and the final round is slated for Tuesday with a 9 a.m. shotgun start scheduled for each day. Admission is free and live scoring will be provided at results.golfstat.com.
The Roadrunners, who won their second straight Texas State Invitational team title earlier this season, are coming off a 13th-place showing at the ICON Invitational on Feb. 24-25 in The Woodlands, Texas. Nicole Polivchak led the way with a 224 (78-72-74) to tie for 46th.
UTSA placed fifth at last year's Maryb S. Kauth Invitational behind Madison Kidd, who fired a 151 (74-77) to finish 18th, while Ana Gonzalez (71-81—152) and Katia Mexsen (75-77—152) were part of a tie for 20th.
The Roadrunners have finished in the top five at their annual home tournament on five different occasions, including capturing the 2011 team crown with a 2-over-par 866 at Briggs Ranch Golf Club behind individual medalist Fabiola Arriaga's 3-under 213 (69-72-72).
