Roadrunners fall to UNT in game three

SAN ANTONIO – North Texas won the series 2-1 after an 11-3 win in game three.
 
Celeste Loughman opened the game with a solo homer to right field to put UTSA on the board.
 
In the top of the second, the Mean Green hit a solo home run to tie the game at one.
 
Loughman recorded her seventh home run of the season in the bottom of the third. Paige Pacher earned a walk and Loughman followed with a homer to right field as the Roadrunners led 3-2.
 
North Texas added three more runs in the fourth from a home run and a single to lead 5-3.
 
In the fifth, the Mean Green had a two multi-run homers to extend the lead to six (9-3).
 
Back-to-back home runs in the seventh helped UNT secure the win.
 
The Roadrunners recorded three runs on three hits.
 
Clarissa Hernandez fell to 3-2 on the season, pitching 2.0 inning with two strikeouts after replacing Makenzie Carpenter.
 
UTSA is back in action on Tuesday at Lamar. First pitch is set for 6 p.m.
