MATCHUP: UTSA owns a 3-2 mark in five previous meetings but UTEP claimed a victory in the last time with a 5-2 decision in El Paso, Texas. Laura Cabrera and Kylee Kato secured points for the Roadrunners.
LAST TIME OUT: The Roadrunners defeated Texas State 5-0 in San Marcos, Texas March 3. Laura Munoz-Baroja, Keegan McCain and Jasmin Starr each recorded a triumph in singles and doubles action. Baroja teamed with Catalina Cabrique to claim a 6-0 victory, while McCain and Starr secured the doubles point with a 6-2 triumph.
The Miners dropped a 6-1 decision at Texas State Friday, falling to 4-9 on the season, including 2-6 away from their home facility. Freshman Thássane Abrahim posted a 6-4, 6-4, win at the No. 5 position, recording the lone marker for her squad.
ABOUT UTSA: UTSA is 32-32 in singles action and 16-16 in doubles play. Starr boasts a 9-1 mark with a five-match winning streak. McCain is 7-3, while Kylee Kato has six victories in singles play. As the top duo, Starr and McCain own half of the team's wins with an 8-1 mark.
ABOUT UTEP: UTEP is 29-44 in individual play and 12-22 in doubles. Kathleen Parcegona has the best mark in singles play at 5-5. Eve Daniels and Lina Sáchica are 4-4 in pairs, posting the best mark of any duo.
Sunday is a doubleheader day for the Roadrunners as they host Laredo CC at 2 p.m.
